Amy Call Pastor

Hello all! My name is Amy Call and I am the pastor at St. John United Methodist Church. I have been so appreciative of St. John welcoming my family to their wonderful congregation. My husband, Tyler, and I have been married for five years and we have a wonderful and quite wild little girl named Ellie, who is almost three. Evie and Daisy are our dogs. If you ever wonder who is who, Evie is the pretty coonhound tripping over her feet and Daisy is the one that looks like a white and black sausage!

We came to St. John in June of 2019. Before that we had been living in Henderson, where I was the associate pastor at Chapel Hill UMC for two years. Previously, I also served as the associate pastor at Audubon Park UMC in Louisville and I was a chaplain at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. I have lived in Kentucky all my life. I went to Kentucky Wesleyan for my first two years of college and then transferred to Transylvania University in Lexington. It was there that I met Tyler! After graduating, I went to Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where I got my duel Masters in Divinity and Marriage and Family Therapy.

Though I’d like to say I read theology books all the time for fun, the truth is that I love reading fiction books in my spare time! I also enjoy playing on the floor with Ellie and playing a select few video games. Family is hugely important to me and I enjoy spending time with them and visiting.

When God called me to be a pastor at the age of twelve, I had no idea what it would be like or what I was getting into. Each and every day I learn something new. Each day, I see God working in the people that I meet and in so many places across our city, state, country, and world. Our God moves each and every day. As a Christian, I see my job as pastor as one where I follow Jesus to meet people where they are and for us all to grow together. God bless you today, with whatever is going on in your life. We all go through joys and sorrows, but through it all, we share the promise that nothing can separate us from the love we have in Christ Jesus.
