St. John Singles Group
The St. John Singles Group is a new group in its infancy. You can be single, divorced, widowed or someone who spends a great deal of time alone and just wants a place to fellowship…this group is for you!! Come join in the meetings once a month. Check out the St. John calendar on this site for location and time for meetings. Information can also be found in our monthly Satellite and in announcements on our weekly bulletins. This group is a great way to “get connected”!
United Women of Faith
The United Women of Faith or UWF is a community of women within the church who have a heart for helping women and children across the world. Meeting monthly, they organize different activities, fundraisers, and events that help women and children both locally and globally. Their past events have included a Chili Supper that supported overseas missions, a Christmas drive for the Mary Kendall Home, our annual Hat and Mitten Tree which collects winter items for local organizations, and so much more. The UWF is always open to new members!
St. John Methodist Men
Meeting the third Saturday of each month for breakfast, the Methodist Men is a thriving group of men of all ages within the church. Their famous breakfast, prepared by the men themselves, draws people from all across Owensboro! Besides eating, the MM have a time of devotion and sharing by various members of the community and congregation. They also fund-raise for issues within the church. The MM is a great opportunity for the men of St. John and elsewhere to build their faith through fellowship and support.
The Help of Office of Owensboro
The Help Office is a ministry where we not only give a special offering to, but we collect donations of food and toiletries for them throughout the year. During Thanksgiving, we as a church make a big push to support their efforts by filling brown bags with items that the Help Office has specifically stated they need during that time.
The Mary Kendall Home
Support with donations, and make Valentine’s cards and gifts for the children on Valentine’s Day
St. Benedict’s Homeless Shelter
We serve a meal on the first Monday of the month.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Our Knitting Fellowship makes prayer shawls for those who are sick and going through difficult circumstances.
Choir
Our choir practices on Sunday mornings beginning at 9 am. We practice the music we are singing on that Sunday morning and upcoming music for the next 2 weeks. Please come join in the fellowship and the worship with song each Sunday as we lead our church singing praises to our Lord. Our choir director Aaron Lundy has vast experience and knowledge and is very helpful. No music knowledge is necessary, just a love of singing!!
